Our story
It started with a phone that kept ringing.
Bihar Paryavaran Sanrakshan Abhiyan — बिहार पर्यावरण संरक्षण अभियान — is a non-governmental, non-profit conservation initiative based in Nalanda.
The campaign brings together environmentally minded young people to work on wildlife conservation and environmental sustainability across Bihar and Jharkhand. In practice that means three things: community outreach and awareness, rescue and rehabilitation of wild animals, and capacity-building workshops for local communities, school and college students, and forest department frontline staff.
None of it is glamorous. A rescue is usually a nervous family, a rat snake behind a gas cylinder, and forty minutes of explaining that it is not venomous. A monitoring day is four people counting nests in a mango tree while auto-rickshaws go past. It adds up.

How we work
Three commitments we do not bend.
They exist because the shortcuts are tempting and the cost of taking them falls on the animals.
Records over claims
Counts, dates and locations are written down on the day. If we did not record it, we do not report it.
Local first
Sessions run in Hindi. Material is printed for village distribution, not for donors.
Permission always
Work inside sanctuary limits happens with the forest department, under their instruction.
